Melbourne Cup today and as Melbourne is My home town, the day holds even more significance for Me, despite My living so far north on the Gold Coast these days.
Fortunately slave tate had a day off today and My house needed cleaning. A perfect opportunity for maid marian to get busy before watching the race in the afternoon. I also wagered a bet with slave tate - with the amount of practice he has had with horse racing, he was given the task of choosing and placing a bet on a horse in the Melbourne Cup for Me - with a catch!!! If My horse fails to win, he would be placed in chastity for a very long time. If My horse DOES win, I would refrain from placing him back in chastity until the New Year. Fair enough odds for My slave who was also instructed to bring two bottles of champagne with him - he would either be celebrating or drowning his sorrows after the race - LOL.
slave tate had no time to worry about that for now as maid marian had plenty to do before the race and she had to work efficiently to get everything done on time. And boy, was she efficient!!! So much so that she deserved a small coffee break in between cleaning tasks and STILL got everything done well before the race began. At that point, My maid was permitted to finish to allow slave tate to make the most of the very important race. Nibblies and champagne flowed freely as W/we sat glued to the television screen in anticipation of whether I would win My bet.
It turned out to be a most spectacular finish to the race. I was thrilled as I had won My bet with My slave and slave tate was devastated by losing not only his bet with Me, but losing on his horse 'Bauer' who came second by the smallest of fractions. Sufferance again for My slave - seems to be a common occurrence for him these days. And it is one of My FAVOURITE words in the English language
I was in much too happy a frame of mind to act upon My winnings this afternoon and My slave has a day or two reprieve before he goes back into chastity. I wonder what My wager will be with My slave for next year's Melbourne Cup? I will definitely have to up the stakes next time *very wicked grin*.

What a difference an inch makes and that is all it took.
