Birthday Lunch Celebration with My boys

An early start to My birthday celebration with a truly tantalising tastebud experience at Songbirds on Mt.Tamborine with My 3 collared boys. Before heading up the mountain, My boys arrived at My house first and when slave tate arrived with My birthday cake which he had picked up on his way, I was speechless at the sight of this brilliant design in the flesh. It is all very well having a concept in mind, its the translation of that concept into reality which can be quite testing and the Pastry Chef outdid herself. What a start to My day of celebration.

After being sidetracked by the arrival of My magnificent birthday cake, I had just enough time left to open My birthday present - a beautiful bracelet - before W/we had to head off for lunch, courtesy of slave tate (who offered to be O/our driver for the day). Despite the wet and cloudy weather, Songbirds was beautiful and My lunch started off with an entree of Rannoch farm Quail and its egg with tellicherry pepper, velvet tofu, walnut & lavender honey, followed by Wood Pigeon Sous Vide with Du Puy lentils, forest mushrooms, cayenne & juniper. Simply heavenly *sighs with content*.

The meals were delicious and not too heavy which meant I definitely had room for dessert. I chose the fabulous sounding option of Rice Pudding Souffle with cookies and cream ice cream & earl grey tea milkshake. What an exquisite, light, mouthwatering way to finish My meal. In addition with O/our meals, W/we had a delightful bottle of organic red wine, followed by coffee and finally washed down with a glass of cognac - Armagnac 1979 Comte de Lamestre in fact. W/we had indulged O/our taste buds for the better part of 4 hours and it was time to hit the road and head back home for My incredible birthday cake.

My cake was so magnificent, it almost seemed a shame having to cut it, but cut it I did after woobieman arrived and the boys sang for the privilege of sharing My delicious birthday cake with Me.

slave connor opened the bottle of champagne he had bought for U/us and the final act of the day was woobieman seeing if the zebra shoe would really fit My foot (see photo here). you may well ask, did it fit? Well, that is for Me to know and you to find out.
